I started with the first attempt.

First attempt:

The first time I did two versions of the guideline, it has using the same photo manipulation/style, but different color tone and layout, so these two delivered a totally different vibe.

First version PDF:
This one looks much more slight than the other one, but this one does not have an organized layout.

Second version PDF:

This version's layout looks much better than the first. So I decided to go through with the second one.

Then after lots of feedback from Ms. Low and Mr. Vinod, I came out with this one as my final brand guideline. So I try to combine these two version's advantages in the final one.

 PDF:

And after this week, I got more feedback from Mr.Vinod. I add more buttons in my interactive PDF.

Like in the first section, I make the pullquote become button, when we click it, a picture will show up. And you also can click the close button to close the picture.

In chapter 2 I change the picture layout. For example, in the last version, I put the different versions of the logo from top to bottom, then I change it to a switch button like below, user can click the button to switch the picture.

Final PDF:

This PDF may have some problem, whenever it upload to google drive it will missing the navigation button on the first page. I don't know why in my pc everything works well.

Feedback

WEEK11:
We were told to work on our e-portfolio from project 1 to project 2 and try to get it done. Then start work on the final project Darrma's guideline.

WEEK12:
I did 2 versions of the guideline of Darrma, and I share it with Mr. Vinod. He just thinks the secondary version's layout is way better than the first one. I totally agree with it, but I think the color scheme can be better. So I start to work on a new version, I hope the new one can combine these two's advantages.

WEEK13:
Then I came out with the final one, and I show it to Mr. Vinod, he thinks I need to make the layout not too stable, cuz it will look very boring. And he also tell us we need to add more button, and voice etc.

WEEK14:
This week we show our works to Darrma's CEO and her group, after the presentation they give us lots of advice, all these critical I think it was important to me, we as a designer must face such situation who do not like our work at all. Be honest is the most effective way to business collaborate. To be honest I can only agree with part of her comments. I will keep these words in my pocket.

Reflection
Experiences:
This is my first time spend whole semester to work on one project, this is a special experience to me, I work with a brand from a logo to a series of their products, that is very cool.

Observation:
Make a brand visual look consistent is an important thing in brand identity. But if everything looks consist and don't want try new elements, too safe will also become a problems. But pick a point which is a balance between these two is designers work.

Findings:
Whoever give us lots of advice, all these critical I think it was important to me, we as a designer must face such situation who do not like our work at all. Be honest is the most effective way to business collaborate. To be honest I can only agree with part of her comments. I will keep these words in my pocket.

Further Reading

The Magic Mountain
figure3.1: The magic mountain Chinese version

Why I read this is because I am so tired to read more books about design during I have to work on some design stuff all day and night. I want to read fiction to escape from the real world.
It's a touchstone of the 20th century, one of the grand European intellectual novels that pose huge questions in terms of human beings in particular situations. The protagonist, Hans Castorp, is Mann's bourgeois Everyman, and it wonderful haw a powerhouse intellectual like Mann can create a sympathetic but also mediocre hero who stumbles through a series of awakenings (and drowsings) on top of a mountain. But I'm making the book sound ponderous and pompous, and it's far too ironic and too seductive to be limited in that way. I came back to it because I was longing for a good long read. (Okay, not everyone's object of yearning.)
