Ms. Lilian gave us general feedback on our Project 1 blogs. After that, we moved on to individual group feedback for each of our Project 1 and have Ms. Lilian see our progression for Project 2.
Week 5 (2021/09/21)
Ms. Lilian gave us some feedback on our progression for Week 5, we need to do our blog by Friday.
Project 2
Project 2A - Ideation
First, we need to plan well for our campaign, we need to think of the campaign name, key messages, communication goals, brand position, and a list of activities. I just come up with one idea to our group, so I think I need to learn more about how to come up with some new ideas from nothing.
Here is our first draft:
Project 2B - Design Direction
Then come to the next step is about specific design direction, I think I kinda like to contribute to this part because I am quite good at summarizing different visual styles, can also confident on a deal with the visual part. So I take this part of works.
So I find 4 different types of visual styles and show to my groupmate, because this campaign is women's main, I kind of from a man's perspective. so I need women to help me decide what is good, what type they want.
Here are 4 different types:
1. Simple graphic, Clean, straight:
Finally, my groupmate help me to decide, we go through no.4 style. And we discussed what we gonna make all these posters, and how to use these graphic elements.
Here is our final outcome slide :
Feedback
Week4:
This week I absented, and I saw the recording, Ms.Lilian help us to decide our campaign name, and also she think we were on the right track, and our ideation is quite good, like one song one make, and Rachel vs. her mom makeup, etc. These ideas look very attractive.
Week5:
This week Ms. Lilian give us feedback on our project2 final submission. First, our ideation is very good. But our mood board can be expanded more, for now, it is too general, and we can separate it into different parts, just better don't put all these photos in one slide. For the typeface, after last week Ms.Lilian given advice, we find a better typeface, that's cool. For the campaign color palette, we can also use a range of colors that we have chosen.
Then move on to our progress, we show lots of works to her, she gives us some feedback, and hope we can keep going like this week.
Reflections
Experience:
In our group is quite different from other groups, cuz our influencer is in our team, can join in the design things, this is a quite good thing to me. When we think about a design direction. We can very clearly know what is fit our influencer, and what is influencer want, so we actually discussed all these things from very different vision, I got something I think we really need to do, Rachel also has some things she think is necessary. We try to found a balance between the different ideation, I think we figure these problems out, and more certitude about what is the way we want to go.
Observation:
Different people think different things, and it seems easy to agree when a general direction is set, but when it comes to the details, everyone has their own ideas, and they’re very different.
Findings:
In a good partnership, everything should be discussed at the beginning, the rules laid down, and strictly enforced. So at the very beginning of the design is often the most important stage. I find that if we don’t get a lot of details right at the beginning, more problems will break out in the course of cooperation, if we solve these problems in the beginning, we can all work together better.

BranD Magazine – Issue 48: Limited Printing
As digital media prevails, the days of spreading paper flyers throughout the busy streets had long passed. People are accustomed to the information spread on new media. Also, the global demand for newsprint and printing paper is declining, and many paper producers in different fields have experienced bankruptcy. But these situations seem to push the arrival of a new wave — prints will enter into the era of refinement.
Regarding paper and inks as crucial media of creation, designers and artists are experimenting with diverse printing techniques, in order to elevate printing to a more unique and innovative level, endow it with more thoughtful quality, and generate in-depth dialogues with people. BranD in Issue 48 endeavors to present glamorous printing, to bring the joy and beauty of reading to our readers and meanwhile gain the freedom of expression as well as creation.
