Lecture

In week 1,  Mr. Asrizal briefed us about this module and explain briefly each task that we will be doing for the whole semester. This module will not be very heavy on the design part and we will mostly be doing analytics using Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. We were also shown examples of senior presentations to give us an overview of how the final outcome is going to look like and Mr. Asrizal also gave a short explanation about the examples of analytics.

Task 1

Social Media Analytics/Group Presentation:

The purpose of this task is for me to get familiarized with analytics data and metrics via analytics tool (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
I will be given access (read-only) to an analytics account. I will be exposed to the types of data, measurable metrics, and actionable insight that will drive a brand or site’s design application and development.
Mr. Asrizal briefed us about this module and explain briefly each task that we will be doing for the whole semester. we will mostly be doing analytics using Google Analytics to do data analysis. I have a group with Hamma to finish this task.
We look for all this data, I don’t know where to start, Then I follow Mr.Asrizal's slide try to find something.

Task 2

Empathy Mapping/Persona & User Journey Map:

Personal profiles are a representation of a product’s users. They are used to keep the user front and center throughout the design, development and maintenance process.
I will go through an empathy mapping exercise as a process to develop their product’s personas. While at that, I will also be exposed on the approaches to creating personas.

Students will conduct several steps and process of research in enable them to proceed to the next task. The need to define the target group in order to conduct the research. There are many variations of the User Centred Design process. The User-Centred Design process is composed of several methods and tasks that will be discuss in a series of lecture. The research process are to be carried out in stages starting with several steps that will be discussed in class. Students are required to prepare a comprehensive document of the User Journey map according to the topic/problem statement chosen.

Task 3

Defining the Four Lenses/Design Document (Project Proposal):

Data distillation guides designer to look at the challenges at hand through four lenses; company, category, consumer and culture. Applying these different perspectives ensures that we have considered all of the angles and brings some creative tension to bear on solving the problems.

Students are required to develop a design document for a specific project. This is to allow students to understand the users, and where the information they want is in relation to their position.

We did research on 6 different companies, which are all competitors of Pixlr.
